Oh how I love thee

Photoshop!!! I have Photoshop CS2 and I'm addicted! Yes, addicted and I'm sure its contagious! Of course, I'm sure that I don't know half of all the amazing things that it allows you to do. I enjoy because it enables my creative side to come out, I've always been an avid scrapper but digital scrapbooking is so much fun and a lot cheaper! You only purchase the kits once and they are yours to use over and over. Since Tasha got me into digi scrapping I have started creating my own birthday cards and sending them out every month! It is something I plan on doing Forever!! So much fun, and just a simple personalized gift to let you know that we're thinking of you on your special day, cute huh?! So I thought I would share a few that I've created and sent out over the past couple of months :)

This was my very 1st birthday card to ever create! I made it last March for a very dear friend of mine, Tifanie! I actually made it to go along with a digital scrapbook that I made for her as a birthday gift and she loved it!

This is the card I used for all of the guys for the fall, except I just started sending cards out every month this past October, so if your birthday is before then you will join the club this year!!!

This is the card I used for everyone in december!!!

This is the card I made for all of the guys with January birthdays!

Girls card for February, the boys just had a blue background in place of the pink and of course blue writing for the name :)

Girls card for March and April, I just replaced the letters on the side! I absolutely love this one!

This is one of my fav's and there are also some with blue instead of read around the writing :)

Aren't they just adorable!! Now you know why I love my sweet photoshop :)

Hope your all ready for the weekend.. I sure am! We are leaving at 4:30 in the morning to leave for Amarillo for about a week and a half :)

Oh and we found out some very exciting news tonight!!! Some of our closest friends, the Talamantes, Tifanie (pictured up above) is pregnant with their 3rd child, and they have already been blessed with two of the most precious girls which consider us to be their auntie and uncle :) I am so proud to announce that they are going to have a precious sweet baby boy!!!!

Reason, Season, or a Lifetime

People come into your life for a reason, a season, or a lifetime.

When someone is in your life for a REASON, it is usually to meet a need you have expressed outwardly or inwardly. They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you with guidance and support, to aid you physically, emotionally, or spiritually. They may seem like a Godsend and they are. They are there for the reason you need them to be. Then, without any wrong doing on your part or an inconvenient time, this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end.

Sometimes they die.
Sometimes they walk away.
Sometimes they act up or out and force you to take a stand.

What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled; their work is done. The prayer you sent up has been answered and it is now time to move on.

When people come into your life for a SEASON, it is because your turn has come to share, grow, or learn. They may bring you experience of peace or make you laugh. They may teach you something you have never done. They usually give you an unbelievable amount of joy. Believe it! It is real! But... only for a season.

LIFETIME relationships teach you lifetime lessons, those things you must build upon in order to have a solid emotional foundation. Your job is to accept the lesson, love the person/people (anyway), and put what you have learned to use in all other relationships and areas of our life. It is said that love is blind, but friendship is clairvoyant.

The PRESENT is the gift from God that you receive when he puts someone in your life.

God may put someone in your life for five seconds, five years, or five decades.

God doesn't promise us any certain time with someone and it's what we make of that time that is our gift from God. That's why we call it the PRESENT So enjoy the PRESENT from God.

Thank you for being a part of my life. May God hold you in the palm of His hand and angels watch over you.

*** This was shown to me in the seventh grade by a teacher of mine and I recently reflected upon it and it has helped me to open my eyes so much to some situations I have been in.

Lets get real...

real personal that is... I've had so much going on these past couple of weeks, months actually. I honestly believe that God brings people into our lives for many different reasons, different periods of time for specific reasoning whether we ever truly know why or not. I'm done questioning all of the why's and why nots and such, I know that He is in control and that is All I need to know! For years I've been in a very emotionally stressful and demanding friendship that has taken its toll on me as well as my husband and I's relationship.. I have done so much for her and gone out of my way time and time again to help her with no gratitude, no thoughtfulness, almost as if it were expected and there were actually times that I chose her side over my husbands. Writing this, I can't believe that I ever fought with my husband over someone who never truly cared for me the way that I cared for her, I can't believe that I defended her for things I knew were wrong.. but I cared, I cared so much for her and so I made some horrible decisions for my life as I put our friendship before so many other things. I allowed myself to continue threw all of the turmoil because I believed that's what I had to do to be the good and true friend that I knew I was. In the long run, all I did was hurt myself. After years of this friendship that was not all bad, but looking back I can admit that it was a very negative situation for me to be involved in. I am now letting go, I am learning that it's not giving up, it's just realizing that I Have to come before all others as well as my husband. Looking back now, my husband has always cared more for me than my friend ever did. Sometimes I just can't believe I was so foolish, but I was and what I am promising to myself today is that I will never put myself into such a negative situation again. It's my personality to do everything and anything I can for those that I love. I cherish all my friends as family as people of honor in my life! I will not let myself change who I am or to give to someone that will never give back to me in return. I'm sure that some of you have been in similar situations and if not be thankful. It's a very tough thing to go through, it's not that I do not care for her, because if that were the case then this would have ended a very long time ago. I do care, still to this day I'm just learning to care for myself More!

On to a better note! My husband and I had the most amazing time this past weekend with such great friends. Shawn and Tasha flew into Houston on Friday around 3 and Shane was able to get off of work early which was so nice because we were able to pick them up from the airport together! Before they left Amarillo, Tasha had received an email stating that she could check her scores online to a test she had taken previously that week, which she didn't feel very confident about or at all. So first things first, we made it to our condo and she immediately got online to check her scores..... and to her suprise....... along with ours... She started screaming and crying and jumping up and down!!! Yep, she passed well above what she needed!!!! Congrats again Tash! Needless to say our weekend was off to a fantastic start :) We hung out for awhile and then Tasha and I fixed up a little to go out to dinner we ended up taking them out to the Kemah Boardwalk and had dinner at Saltgrass Steakhouse and it was delicious! We were celebrating several things, my birthday (which was Monday the 16th), Tasha's scores (she's now a certified Special Education Teacher!!! Yeah!), and just the simple fact that we have some amazing friends who care enough about us to come to Houston to visit! Plane tickets are not cheap! They are truly a gift from God!!!! After dinner which lasted a good 2 and 1/2 hours, we walked around the boardwalk and hungout. We left after a little while, and went to a pool hall which ended being 21 and over so we dropped the guys off and went to Starbucks for coffee and headed to Wal-mart to get a couple of things that she forgot to bring. We ended up stopping by Daniel and Leslie's to pick up a check Les had for me for helping her open the new Rue 21 store and I am so glad that Tasha was able to meet them and Cadence! It's always nice to be able to put a face with a name, especially when I speak of them so often!!!! We picked up the guys and headed to the house where we stayed up late talking.

Saturday was such a great lazy day, we weren't in a rush at all. Although we woke up pretty early and went to get Kolaches around 7:30, ate breakfast and then went back to bed for a nap! haha which lasted a couple of hours we didnt get back up until around 10:30!!! We got ready, Tasha let me fix her hair (oh yes, it was all poof!!!) and then we went to a late lunch at Gringos and then off to the Galoria for a long day of Shopping :) We all had so much fun! It was so nice to be able to just relax and spend time with such great friends. I got a couple of shirts at Macy's and Tasha also got a few things there! My most exciting purchase was a dress I got at Express for Tara's wedding :) It's so CUTE!!!! All the ladies working loved it on me, so of course that made it a super easy pick! I also got a couple of shirts from New York & Company. All in all we were there for hours, and it was such a blast!! After leaving there we came home to drop off our bags and use the bathroom and then we were off to Main Event... yes can you believe that the guys wanted to play some more pool... what after playing pool for Hours the night before?!?! haha It was so fun, to just have a drink, chit chat and watch our guys play! After about an hour and a half there we went to Buffalo Wild Wings for dinner.. there was the sweetest couple there with their daughters who were gorgeous!!! Some people are just so friendly and they give you up that there is still good in this world! We stopped by Wal-mart on the way home to pick up another controller for Shane's Play Station, and they stayed up far past Tasha and I that night!

Sunday.. another great day, but sad because they already had to go home :( We all got ready and headed back out to Kemah to eat at Landry's which was amazing.. except Tasha must have got a Stinky Fish because she didn't like it! haha get it.. stinky???? Oh, how I crack myself up! After a long lunch and another walk around the boardwalk, we drove out to the San Jacinto Battlefield which was really neat. I had been there before but it was several years ago. We all had a fun time following the map and driving around.. Shawn gave Shane directions off of the handy dandy map, I took pictures and we laughed the entire way! Actually we did ALOT of Laughing the entire weekend. Oh how laughter fills the Heart!!!! I was really disappointed that we didn't have enough time to go out on the actual battleship but it worked out better this way, that means they HAVE to come back!!! haha We did stop by our mall on the way to the airport.. lots of walking, window shopping (Shane did get a very nice new hat!) and I picked up something for my moms birthday.. We did all enjoy some dessert!! Ice Cream for Shane, Tasha and I.. and Cookies for Shawn :) It was sad to see them go, but it was so nice for them to come and visit! I can't even to begin to find the words to let them know how appreciative we are! It means so much!!!

I am so excited to be going to Amarillo on Friday.. Shane has some training for work so we will be there until March 11th which will be so nice! Time to actually see everyone and spend more than a few hours with those that we love :) We do have several things planned with many friends and family already.. and we will be in town for my dads birthday which is very special!!! We will drive home on Wednesday the 11th because I have a test on Thursday the 12th at 11:30 a.m. and then we will be going to the Houston Rodeo and to the Brad Paisley concert that night with some of our great friends Daniel and Leslie :) I am stoked about this... and then on Saturday morning (the 14th---Our 2 Year Wedding Anniversary :))) we will leave for VEGAS!!!! We are going to Market which is going to be an absolute blast!

I will add pictures soon of our weekend :)

Shane and I met Sean and Amy when we moved to Houston through Shane's work several months after living here. We started hanging out and immediately clicked, they even decided to add both Shane and I to their wedding party after just a few months because they couldn't imagine not having their best friends in it, what an honor it was! They are some of the greatest people you could ever know and we feel so blessed to have met them, I definitely believe they are a reason that God led us to Houston!

I tag whoever wants to play!

Tuesday Whitt

I came across a blog just a few days ago and their story broke my heart. I sobbed just from the first few sentences... their young daughter Tuesday was dying from cancer and there was nothing else they could do. How this blog brought back so many memories of losing Brittney.. there is nothing like losing a sibling or a loved one to cancer, especially a child so young and innocent. I can't imagine ever losing a child. When Britt passed away I was so young, at the end of my fourth grade year in elementary school and I remember being so sad, yet not wanting anyone to see my tears. I was so hurt and confused and there are no words to make sense of it. How odd for me to stumble upon a blog to follow in the last moments of a little girls life who also had cancer, neuroblastoma to be exact.. the same type of cancer that Brittney had. Even though things are difficult to understand and what we dread.. I know we have to rejoice for those selected few, whom He has a plan for all.

He received an amazing angel tonight,

Weekend Wrap-Up and More!

I had a wonderful week back to school last week, I somehow ended up with all really good teachers, both online and in class and that never happens to me so I'm even more excited about this semester now than I was before! It's just begun but I'm already busy as ever.. which is good, hopefully it will help this semester to come and go, so I'm definitely not complaining!

We went to a hockey game Saturday night to watch the Houston Aeros, there was a group of us and we all had a Blast! We were given the tickets buy a guy that Shane works with and they turned out to be super great seat so that was definitely a plus :) The night was great besides the fact that the bartender spilt a huge cup of beer all over Sean... and he tipped her $20 for it (long story!)... craziest thing of the night. ha After the game everyone came back to our house to hangout and we ended up playing sing star and snacking and just having a great time!

Huge screen at Toyota center.. keep score and they show different pictures!

Nancy, Amy and INancy, Fabian and I
Shane got up super early Sunday morning to go fishing with his friend Scott and they caught a ton of huge fish :) So that made for a really good day! haha They were out on the pier from around 7 am to 4 in the afternoon so I had most of the day to myself. Needless to say I didn't do much, a little laundry and a little studying! I did workout both Saturday and Sunday with Leslie, we've been doing so good! Actually this week I have missed the past 2 or 3 days from being so sick but otherwise I've been there ALL the time. haha

Added to the list of the many things I have going on through May, Shane and I are going to Vegas!!! Along with my parents and Larry and Sharon (Larry owns CMW where Shane works and my dad is VP) for market!! There is going to be SOO much wonderful shopping... jewelry galore and I'm super excited :) To make things better we are actually going to be there for our 2 year anniversary! Omgosh could timing be any better?! This will be both of our first time to Vegas so do any of you have any advice? Know of any hot spots, shows we should see.. anything?? We will be staying at Caesars Palace and it looks so amazing! Now I've got to start getting my wardrobe ready for VEGAS!!!!

Hope you're all having a wonderful Wednesday :)

Title Here!

Shane and I met my parents and some close family friends in Tulsa for the Chili Bowl this past weekend and we had an amazing time! It was so much fun as usual.. there is so much racing from Tuesday through Saturday evening its unbelievable :) There's nothing better than a week of good racing!!!

I am so excited for this week, probably the most excited I've ever been to start a new semester of school! I am taking another full load of classes, a total of 13 hours so I will definitely be very busy all semester long as well as everything else that I have going on through May! I'm even more excited about what is in store for Shane and I this year sometime after this semester :)

Did any of you watch The Bachelor tonight? OMG I cried like a baby, even more than usual! Is Jason an amazing man or what?! Just the thought of him bringing Sophia to spend her birthday with her mom was so thoughtful but then even more so to have such a special birthday planned for her!

Please continue to keep Brayden and Harper and all of their families in your thoughts and prayers, after reading updates they both seem to be doing better but are both still in critical condition.

Wishing you all a Wonderful Week :)

Today has been such a lazy day full of laundry, grocery shopping, getting a head start on studying and doing it all with my hubby! I skipped working out today but plan on going Monday thru Thursday. We leave for Tulsa on Friday morning, Shane and I are both very excited to go to the races!!! Last night I made a new recipe, Salsa Chicken from SparkPeople for a couple of our friends and everyone loved it, I will definitely be making this some more in the future :) I did update my blog background and header which I've been needing to do and I have also finished my birthday cards and will be getting the rest of them printed and in the mail tomorrow. I was also excited to hear from Tasha today that one of her good friends who I also know, Emily really wants to help Lacy and I with her graduation party, which is going to be tons of Fun!!!

Hope you all have had a Fabulous weekend and are looking forward to the new week as much as I am :)

Christmas Time && A Very Busyyy New Year!

We had an Amazing Christmas with most of our family! Here are some of the things we were able to do and a few pictures to go along:
Our oldest nephew Shelton had a Christmas play on the Thursday afternoon that we arrived so we were able to suprise him and attend that, which was so exciting! He was super suprised along with our other nephew Riley and niece Kyerra who were also there, they definitely were not expecting us to come. Riley had already gotten out of school at noon and so he came with Shane's brother Joe and Kyerra's teacher let her come and sit with us!

After Shelton's play, Shane had to go up to work and drop off some parts that we had brought back. So my mom and I went and got our nails done! That night we had Shane's work Christmas party to attend, which turned out really great :)

Shane's great uncle Bob suffered a severe heart attack shortly before Christmas so we spent some time up at the hospital with him and his wife Ruth. It was such a scary time, but we were able to spend time and have such a wonderful talk which I am so thankful for.

Shane did work the week of Christmas, so I was able to spend alot of time with my mom which was so nice, of course we went shopping and had lunch and just had fun hanging out :)

We did manage to get Bransen into the Vet to get his yearly shots, which was definitely a plus!!

Christmas Eve we had an open house Christmas party to attend at the Oeschger's home and then we ended up going to eat that night with my uncle Kyle, aunt Amy and cousins Colby and Tyler. After dinner we all went back over to their house to exchange gifts, which was hilarious! They tricked me and gave me this old grandma looking night gown... and I of course didn't realize that this was a joke so I was trying to be as polite and thankful while wearing this look of shock on my face while everyone was laughing!!! Then I got my real pajamas which are adorable :) We stayed over there for quite a while before going over to Joe and Jennifer's to stay the night and let the kids open all of their presents from us. The kids enjoyed all their presents from us, they all got jeans from gap, shirts and 2 other presents each and then we gave them 3 family gifts to share or play together! Shelton didn't really know what to think.. since we got him 2 psp games and he had no idea he was getting a psp for Christmas we had to let him open 2 boxes with a note from Shane and I with a couple of dollars saying that he had to wait until Christmas Morning to open the rest of his "real" presents from us! This is "our" every year family tradition and I look forward to Christmas Eve and the Morning of each and every year!

On Christmas Morning, we were awakened by all 3 kids excitedly telling us to Hurry and get up that Santa came and it was time to open all of their presents :)) There is nothing better than waking up to 3 kids filled with so much joy! Riley received an awesome bright green bike from Santa Claus and the other 2 well they already know... yes you know, what they know! ha After they all finished opening All of their presents which took a Longgg time, Jenn made us a delicious homemade breakfast which included bisquits, eggs, bacon... the works, she spoils us every year!

Around 11:00 am we left and went back to my parents house where we had such a wonderful Christmas opening presents with them! They definitely still spoil us every year!!! I got a new hot pink Chi to add to my collection haha, I swear I have soo many of those things.. One in every color! I also got a new Abas wallet, its Taupe from the Sassy Collection, Oh it's sooo beautiful and definitely one of my Fav's!!! I got a new Black Fossil watch.. some clothes... cd's... and soo much more I can't even think of it all! Shane got a new play station which he was so thrilled about... the Madden 09 and Country Singstar (really for me!) to go with it... a ton of clothes... and a bunch of other stuff! haha

Around 1:00 pm Shane, my parents and I all went to Happy to have Christmas at my Pepa's house with him and my aunt Kassi and cousins Tyler, Faith, and Jaidyn... my uncle Cody is a police officer and had to work that evening but was called out early to a home invasion. We had such a great time.. eating wonderful food.. I even made a friend of mine's all time famous salad and it turned out so good!

A little later in the evening we all loaded up and drove to Tulia to see my great grandmother and my grandmother who recently passed away in May's sister and her family! It was so awkward to not spend Thanksgiving or Christmas this year in Tulia at the nursing home.. I mean I have spent every holiday, birthday, family event in the family room of that nursing home since I was old enough to remember. My grandmother had Multiple Sclerosis and was in that home for most of my life.. more than 15 years. Holidays will never be the same without her here but I'm so thankful that she is not here suffering anymore! After leaving Tulia we went back to Happy and didn't leave until about 11 pm. We had a wonderful Christmas!

Jaidyn and great grandma Tyler, Faith and great grandma

We had plans Friday evening with some good friends for a game night but had to cancel because I was so severely sick (throwing up.. and you know the other stuff that does NOT need to be spelled out on here) all Friday afternoon, evening and most of Saturday. That was definitely a BUMMER... I even missed my hair appointment Saturday morning, which Never and I mean NEVER happens. Since I was so sick I didn't go with Shane to visit with his grandparents on his dads side Friday night and they were so disappointed! I love going over to visit with them and they love having us over so I was also bummed about not getting to go. They were able to have a nice long visit though which was very nice!

Shane's grandma (his moms mom) was admitted into the hospital the Saturday following Christmas (which happened to be the night of her side of the families Christmas dinner) with pneumonia so that was cancelled. We were supposed to give Shane's middle brothers boys their presents there so we had to stop by their house and deliver those important presents on the way to dinner with Shawn and Tasha! We don't get to spend much time with their kids especially not this past year so I was really stumped on what to get them, but they actually really seemed to like what I bought! We also stopped back by Shane's grandparents house where I could say hello and get to see them a little before heading back to Houston! They were very excited to see me, which is always so nice :) Papa was excited that Shawn and Tasha joined for the visit, he was even more thrilled that Shawn was a police officer!!! He was up and dancing and he definitely hasn't done that since his wreck a couple of weeks before Christmas, so that was really nice to see him so happy! We left there and then went to eat at Jorge's, which is usually sooo good, but it was late and they weren't very busy and it was definitely not the best I've had :( But we had a great time with great friends and thats really all that mattered!!! After dinner we headed back to my parents house to play games... but we started watching I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry and I totally crashed.. I know party pooper, which is so not me! They didn't leave until around 1 or 2 am and we are so glad they were able to drive down from Dumas to see us :)
