Your Prayers

One of our very best friends was injured this morning in Afghanistan. He is undergoing major surgery on his arm and if everything goes well hopefully they will fly him home soon. Please keep him in your prayers!

Thank you all so much!

Oh how I love thee

Photoshop!!! I have Photoshop CS2 and I'm addicted! Yes, addicted and I'm sure its contagious! Of course, I'm sure that I don't know half of all the amazing things that it allows you to do. I enjoy because it enables my creative side to come out, I've always been an avid scrapper but digital scrapbooking is so much fun and a lot cheaper! You only purchase the kits once and they are yours to use over and over. Since Tasha got me into digi scrapping I have started creating my own birthday cards and sending them out every month! It is something I plan on doing Forever!! So much fun, and just a simple personalized gift to let you know that we're thinking of you on your special day, cute huh?! So I thought I would share a few that I've created and sent out over the past couple of months :)

This was my very 1st birthday card to ever create! I made it last March for a very dear friend of mine, Tifanie! I actually made it to go along with a digital scrapbook that I made for her as a birthday gift and she loved it!

This is the card I used for all of the guys for the fall, except I just started sending cards out every month this past October, so if your birthday is before then you will join the club this year!!!

This is the card I used for everyone in december!!!

This is the card I made for all of the guys with January birthdays!

Girls card for February, the boys just had a blue background in place of the pink and of course blue writing for the name :)

Girls card for March and April, I just replaced the letters on the side! I absolutely love this one!

This is one of my fav's and there are also some with blue instead of read around the writing :)

Aren't they just adorable!! Now you know why I love my sweet photoshop :)

Hope your all ready for the weekend.. I sure am! We are leaving at 4:30 in the morning to leave for Amarillo for about a week and a half :)

Oh and we found out some very exciting news tonight!!! Some of our closest friends, the Talamantes, Tifanie (pictured up above) is pregnant with their 3rd child, and they have already been blessed with two of the most precious girls which consider us to be their auntie and uncle :) I am so proud to announce that they are going to have a precious sweet baby boy!!!!

Reason, Season, or a Lifetime

People come into your life for a reason, a season, or a lifetime.

When someone is in your life for a REASON, it is usually to meet a need you have expressed outwardly or inwardly. They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you with guidance and support, to aid you physically, emotionally, or spiritually. They may seem like a Godsend and they are. They are there for the reason you need them to be. Then, without any wrong doing on your part or an inconvenient time, this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end.

Sometimes they die.
Sometimes they walk away.
Sometimes they act up or out and force you to take a stand.

What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled; their work is done. The prayer you sent up has been answered and it is now time to move on.

When people come into your life for a SEASON, it is because your turn has come to share, grow, or learn. They may bring you experience of peace or make you laugh. They may teach you something you have never done. They usually give you an unbelievable amount of joy. Believe it! It is real! But... only for a season.

LIFETIME relationships teach you lifetime lessons, those things you must build upon in order to have a solid emotional foundation. Your job is to accept the lesson, love the person/people (anyway), and put what you have learned to use in all other relationships and areas of our life. It is said that love is blind, but friendship is clairvoyant.

The PRESENT is the gift from God that you receive when he puts someone in your life.

God may put someone in your life for five seconds, five years, or five decades.

God doesn't promise us any certain time with someone and it's what we make of that time that is our gift from God. That's why we call it the PRESENT So enjoy the PRESENT from God.

Thank you for being a part of my life. May God hold you in the palm of His hand and angels watch over you.

*** This was shown to me in the seventh grade by a teacher of mine and I recently reflected upon it and it has helped me to open my eyes so much to some situations I have been in.

Lets get real...

real personal that is... I've had so much going on these past couple of weeks, months actually. I honestly believe that God brings people into our lives for many different reasons, different periods of time for specific reasoning whether we ever truly know why or not. I'm done questioning all of the why's and why nots and such, I know that He is in control and that is All I need to know! For years I've been in a very emotionally stressful and demanding friendship that has taken its toll on me as well as my husband and I's relationship.. I have done so much for her and gone out of my way time and time again to help her with no gratitude, no thoughtfulness, almost as if it were expected and there were actually times that I chose her side over my husbands. Writing this, I can't believe that I ever fought with my husband over someone who never truly cared for me the way that I cared for her, I can't believe that I defended her for things I knew were wrong.. but I cared, I cared so much for her and so I made some horrible decisions for my life as I put our friendship before so many other things. I allowed myself to continue threw all of the turmoil because I believed that's what I had to do to be the good and true friend that I knew I was. In the long run, all I did was hurt myself. After years of this friendship that was not all bad, but looking back I can admit that it was a very negative situation for me to be involved in. I am now letting go, I am learning that it's not giving up, it's just realizing that I Have to come before all others as well as my husband. Looking back now, my husband has always cared more for me than my friend ever did. Sometimes I just can't believe I was so foolish, but I was and what I am promising to myself today is that I will never put myself into such a negative situation again. It's my personality to do everything and anything I can for those that I love. I cherish all my friends as family as people of honor in my life! I will not let myself change who I am or to give to someone that will never give back to me in return. I'm sure that some of you have been in similar situations and if not be thankful. It's a very tough thing to go through, it's not that I do not care for her, because if that were the case then this would have ended a very long time ago. I do care, still to this day I'm just learning to care for myself More!

On to a better note! My husband and I had the most amazing time this past weekend with such great friends. Shawn and Tasha flew into Houston on Friday around 3 and Shane was able to get off of work early which was so nice because we were able to pick them up from the airport together! Before they left Amarillo, Tasha had received an email stating that she could check her scores online to a test she had taken previously that week, which she didn't feel very confident about or at all. So first things first, we made it to our condo and she immediately got online to check her scores..... and to her suprise....... along with ours... She started screaming and crying and jumping up and down!!! Yep, she passed well above what she needed!!!! Congrats again Tash! Needless to say our weekend was off to a fantastic start :) We hung out for awhile and then Tasha and I fixed up a little to go out to dinner we ended up taking them out to the Kemah Boardwalk and had dinner at Saltgrass Steakhouse and it was delicious! We were celebrating several things, my birthday (which was Monday the 16th), Tasha's scores (she's now a certified Special Education Teacher!!! Yeah!), and just the simple fact that we have some amazing friends who care enough about us to come to Houston to visit! Plane tickets are not cheap! They are truly a gift from God!!!! After dinner which lasted a good 2 and 1/2 hours, we walked around the boardwalk and hungout. We left after a little while, and went to a pool hall which ended being 21 and over so we dropped the guys off and went to Starbucks for coffee and headed to Wal-mart to get a couple of things that she forgot to bring. We ended up stopping by Daniel and Leslie's to pick up a check Les had for me for helping her open the new Rue 21 store and I am so glad that Tasha was able to meet them and Cadence! It's always nice to be able to put a face with a name, especially when I speak of them so often!!!! We picked up the guys and headed to the house where we stayed up late talking.

Saturday was such a great lazy day, we weren't in a rush at all. Although we woke up pretty early and went to get Kolaches around 7:30, ate breakfast and then went back to bed for a nap! haha which lasted a couple of hours we didnt get back up until around 10:30!!! We got ready, Tasha let me fix her hair (oh yes, it was all poof!!!) and then we went to a late lunch at Gringos and then off to the Galoria for a long day of Shopping :) We all had so much fun! It was so nice to be able to just relax and spend time with such great friends. I got a couple of shirts at Macy's and Tasha also got a few things there! My most exciting purchase was a dress I got at Express for Tara's wedding :) It's so CUTE!!!! All the ladies working loved it on me, so of course that made it a super easy pick! I also got a couple of shirts from New York & Company. All in all we were there for hours, and it was such a blast!! After leaving there we came home to drop off our bags and use the bathroom and then we were off to Main Event... yes can you believe that the guys wanted to play some more pool... what after playing pool for Hours the night before?!?! haha It was so fun, to just have a drink, chit chat and watch our guys play! After about an hour and a half there we went to Buffalo Wild Wings for dinner.. there was the sweetest couple there with their daughters who were gorgeous!!! Some people are just so friendly and they give you up that there is still good in this world! We stopped by Wal-mart on the way home to pick up another controller for Shane's Play Station, and they stayed up far past Tasha and I that night!

Sunday.. another great day, but sad because they already had to go home :( We all got ready and headed back out to Kemah to eat at Landry's which was amazing.. except Tasha must have got a Stinky Fish because she didn't like it! haha get it.. stinky???? Oh, how I crack myself up! After a long lunch and another walk around the boardwalk, we drove out to the San Jacinto Battlefield which was really neat. I had been there before but it was several years ago. We all had a fun time following the map and driving around.. Shawn gave Shane directions off of the handy dandy map, I took pictures and we laughed the entire way! Actually we did ALOT of Laughing the entire weekend. Oh how laughter fills the Heart!!!! I was really disappointed that we didn't have enough time to go out on the actual battleship but it worked out better this way, that means they HAVE to come back!!! haha We did stop by our mall on the way to the airport.. lots of walking, window shopping (Shane did get a very nice new hat!) and I picked up something for my moms birthday.. We did all enjoy some dessert!! Ice Cream for Shane, Tasha and I.. and Cookies for Shawn :) It was sad to see them go, but it was so nice for them to come and visit! I can't even to begin to find the words to let them know how appreciative we are! It means so much!!!

I am so excited to be going to Amarillo on Friday.. Shane has some training for work so we will be there until March 11th which will be so nice! Time to actually see everyone and spend more than a few hours with those that we love :) We do have several things planned with many friends and family already.. and we will be in town for my dads birthday which is very special!!! We will drive home on Wednesday the 11th because I have a test on Thursday the 12th at 11:30 a.m. and then we will be going to the Houston Rodeo and to the Brad Paisley concert that night with some of our great friends Daniel and Leslie :) I am stoked about this... and then on Saturday morning (the 14th---Our 2 Year Wedding Anniversary :))) we will leave for VEGAS!!!! We are going to Market which is going to be an absolute blast!

I will add pictures soon of our weekend :)

This is a picture of one of my very best friends Amy and I at her Bachelorette Party, the beginning of the night!

Shane and I met Sean and Amy when we moved to Houston through Shane's work several months after living here. We started hanging out and immediately clicked, they even decided to add both Shane and I to their wedding party after just a few months because they couldn't imagine not having their best friends in it, what an honor it was! They are some of the greatest people you could ever know and we feel so blessed to have met them, I definitely believe they are a reason that God led us to Houston!

I tag whoever wants to play!
